• The synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials is currently undergoing a significant and rapid evolution, driven by the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in workflows involving nanomaterials synthesis platforms as well as characterization modalities. In addition to improved reliability and efficiency, these new automated methods promise significant advantages compared to previous iterations, including completely novel experimental capabilities, autonomous methods towards nonequilibrium materials growth, and methods for active structure-processing-property learning with theory-in-the-loop.

The Electronic Materials Conference (EMC) is the premier annual forum on the preparation, characterization, and applications of electronic materials. EMC provides a unique opportunity for researchers from academia, government labs, and industry to meet and share the latest cutting-edge results across the broad range of fields under the umbrella of electronic materials. This year’s event will feature a plenary session, topical sessions, a poster session and more.

EMC is coordinated with the Device Research Conference (DRC), which will be held during the same week as EMC, from June 21 - 24, 2026. The colocation and overlap of DRC and EMC underscores the strong interdependence of device and electronic materials research and provides opportunities for the fruitful exchange of information between attendees of both Conferences.
